Strike Coverage — PACU
Event details
In the PACU, the RN monitors patients as they recover from anesthesia, managing pain, airway, and vital signs while preparing them for discharge or further care. Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU): • Receive and assess patients from the OR post-anesthesia using standardized recovery criteria. • Monitor airway, hemodynamic stability, neurologic function, and pain levels. • Administer medications for pain, nausea, or hypertension as needed, and manage post-op complications. • Educate and prepare patients and families for discharge or transfer to inpatient units.
Due to the nature of strike staffing and rapid deployment, exact facility and placement details are confirmed during onboarding and assignment confirmation.
Unit description
Clinicians provide care in fast-paced clinical environments and work with interdisciplinary teams across the assignment.
Responsibilities may include
- Patient assessment and care planning
- Medication administration per protocol
- Documentation in the facility EMR
- Communication with charge nurse and RapidStaff leadership
- Participation in unit orientation and safety briefings
Requirements
- Active CA RN license
- BLS required; ACLS per unit requirement
- Recent experience in PACU setting
- Ability to start on short notice
